
Carlton Fire & Ambulance
The Carlton Fire department, established in 1881, proudly serves communities of Carlton County. The fire department operates through the dedication of its volunteers. Carlton’s ambulance responds to approximately 500 calls a year throughout a 160 square mile response area. The ambulance is staffed 24-7 with Nationally Certified EMT’s. Carlton firefighter and EMT receive extensive training in fire suppression, technical rope rescue, swift water rescue, vehicle extraction and all medical situations. The department is complimented by a substantial fleet of state of the art emergency vehicles including a wild land fire truck, 3,000 gallon water tender, 1,250 gallon per minute fire engine, 75’ Ariel truck and two fully equipped ambulances. The fire hall is located at 100 4th street North.
